I had to let go of my tabletop RPG books several moves back... and
then expensively claw them back as PDFs. ;-)
 
I actually don't regret getting rid of the hard-copies, but I do
regret HOW I disposed of them: they went all of them to recycling. But
this was long before tabletop gaming made any sort of resurgence, and
the books themselves were considered valueless.

Oof.  I did get rid of most of my 4e D&D books last move, but I sold
them, surprisingly there was actually a reasonable market for them.

Sold the PS2 and most of the games for it for cheap to a used console
store, which I still somewhat regret.

All the old PC games I didn't want, no one else did either (including
the game store) so they ended up in the trash. I believe I listed them
here too but had no inquirers.

When I was working in a security company office, I used to put my
unwanted computer games and others on a recycle/an etrash area so anyone
could just take them for free before they were taken away. We also put
other stuff there too like hardwares. Most of the stuff were broken
(e.g., burned MacBook power plug) though though. Once in a while, there
were good stuff! Like one time, I took an unopened external USR
Sportster 56k dial-up modem! I tested it before taking it home! However,
I never got to use it at home before I moved and never got the old
school copper landline service again. I still have it in storage! I also
saw old used mouses, clicky keyboards, etc. I took those to use in my
cubicle and then home. It was so nice! I miss that place. Yesterday was
hit my decade anniversary of being laid off from there. :(

Still, I wish I'd hung onto them in storage for a few more years. I'd
still have gotten rid of them eventually, I think, but I could have
sold them instead of tossing them.

Yes, some rarer books and stuff could be worth the time and at least
they stay in circulation. Or drop them off for a pitance at a comic book
or used book store.

Selling them is tedious. I just don't bother unless I can sell them
fast. I could give them away too.

I wished we had (t(ele/rans)porter/portal)s to easy go to places easily
and quickly. We could have our own place to get rid of stuff! :P
