An amusing comment I read was that both KCD1 and KCD2 use the same
engine as "Star Citizen", and the devs have some sort of
technology-sharing agreement with Cloud Imperium (Chris Robert's
company).* But while "Star Citizen" so far has amassed $800 million in
development costs and hasn't yet come out of alpha, Warhorse Studios
(the KDC devs) have published both of their games, and it cost them
1/8 the price.
[and frankly, from what I've seen of both games, I think KDC
looks a lot nicer but then, I'm more partial to trees and
castles than barren planets]
Makes you wonder what Chris Roberts is doing with all that money...
* I don't know if it's actually true, but it makes for an amusing
story ;-)
