It's not the game that turns me off so much as the whole "chapter 1"
bullshit. Call a demo a demo; don't make it like you're giving me a
free game. Plus, the implication of a 'chapter 1' is a chapter 2, 3,
4, 5 and so forth. I'm so over episodic gaming. Not only don't I want
to buy my games in chunks, the format leads to a lot of problems with
repetitiveness and pacing. It makes for a less cohesive story and
gameplay.

All that, and then there's the game itself. I'm a fan of classic
point-n-clicks, but unlike many, I was thrilled at the death of the
'command list' parser (e.g., where you have to click the 'use' or
'talk' button first). And I've /no/ nostalgia for EGA graphics. There
were, on occassion, some EGA games that looked good... but that was
DESPITE the limitations of the adapter, and not because of it. And
"Space Mess" does not rise to that level.

I've no idea as to the gameplay or writing in this game; it may
actually be quite good. But for a whole host of other reasons, I'm
avoiding this one like the plague.*
