Poor Performance BG3 9n laptop

Moved BG3 from ols laptop with RTX2080 to a newer machine that resulted in really crappy performance. The new machine is an !9-14900HX, 32gb ram, RTX4080, Win11 24h2. I know the specs for the videocard in the game need to be dumbed down, but I honestly don't know which ones. Then there's the display mode thing that I set on automatic because I don't know any better.I'm not good on videocards which is an under statement. Can someone give me a hand and tell me what would help slow, stuttery performance. Thanks
