"Stray" is a wonderfully cute game, but its appeal (I think) lies
almost entirely on the cuteness of its protagonist. Its story is
fairly humdrum, and its other characters pretty forgettable. It does
have nice some visuals and its atmosphere is pretty cool. But if you
don't like cats I think a lot of what makes this game special will
bypass you.
When will there be a Dog version? ;P
Closest I can think of is the Playstation 2 game, "Dog's Life"
(here's a video:
https://youtu.be/D0WsnngckdU )
It's obviously not as visually impressive, what with it being 22 years
old, and it's a bit more challenge-based but if you want to role-play
a cute puppy, that's the first one that comes to mind.
There are other dog-related games of course, but they tend to be
either mascot-platformers or Tamagotchi-style digital pet simulators.
"Dog's Life" wasn't, from the little I remember playing it, a good
game but it was unique and at least it tried (too many games are just
pale copy-pastes of other, better games). Of course, getting your
hands on the game (and the hardware) could be a challenge. Unless you
don an eyepatch...
