Alright, it's a new month, so we've got another chance to grab a bunch
of free-sorta-but-not-really games from Amazon Prime. This time we get
9 games spread across five different services. Even I'm finding it
hard to jump through all the hoops necessary to claim these freebies.
Amazon, you've admitted there's no way you're beating Valve at their
game, so can you just give people what they want and hand out keys to
games on Steam already? (I'm fine with GOG too ;-)
* Wolfenstein: Youngblood (via Microsoft)
"Youngblood" isn't a bad game, but it's not one you rush
out to get. It's got the usual new-Wolfenstein diesel-punk
aesthetics and gore, but it's story isn't very engaging
(it certainly hasn't got the wildness of "New Colossus")
and its focus on co-op play and open-world mechanics weaken
rather than strengthen the experience. But hey, you get
both the XBox and PC version of the game. Me, I'm not even
gonna bother.
Ooh, a first. A game on microsoft's client. I'm a bit surprised they were able to do that.
"Human Revolution" was a nice add, but seeing as I already have that
one I can't get too excited, and the rest of the offerings are pretty
much dross. Ah well; it's not like I pay just to get these games;
they're just bonus. And if The Number goes up because of it, well, I
won't complain TOO loudly. We'll see if more exciting games are
offered next time.
Nothing exciting to me, but got them all. For the number.
