Didja know that if you visit the Epic Game Store website, you can see
pretty much everything they've on offer without javascript enabled...
except the free games? It's one of those weird things I've noticed
whenever I go there (I need to visit the website to get the URL for
the free game). Oh well.

A boring fighting\brawling game that I already have in my library.
That is about as bad as a freebie can get for me. Thank you Epic.
Thank you very much.
I'm not going to be so negative about it, because Epic has no
obligation to provide us with free games, much NEW free games or games
that cater to a wide array of tastes. And --seeing as this game was a
freebie two years ago-- there's probably a bunch of people who didn't
get it the first time, and might be interested in it now. So actually
I do say, earnestly, thank you Epic. I might not want the particular
game on offer, but I _am_ grateful for those I take.
That said, if Epic's weekly freebies are intended to attract an
audience, I do think that the frequent repeats and niche games aren't
doing them any favors. Then again, I'm pretty sure Epic is aware of
this too, just as they are aware that the entire program at this point
has probably outlasted its utility. But cancelling it entirely would
likely cost them a lot of good press and result in a huge dip in
active users, since Fortnite players aside, a huge number of people
visit the Epic Game Store _only_ for those freebies. So cheap Indie
games and frequent repeats are the wisest course for them at this
point.
I mean, an _even smarter option_ would be to massively invest in your
client and back-end services so the Epic Game Store was actually
competitive with Steam, giving people a reason to hang around even
AFTER they snagged the free game, but for some reason Epic doesn't
want to do that.
And hey, on occassion there are even freebies on Epic that I _am_
interested in. If I have to wade through a few dozen Indie
filler-games to get those, I'm still grateful.
