I remember this one from back in the early 2000s. It was /awful/; it
was every terrible trope about point-n-click adventure games
--terrible puzzles, boring story, endless back-n-forth wandering,
etc.-- wrapped into a single package. On the face of it, the visuals
were pretty, but the awful rendering style quickly lost its appeal the
longer you played it. And despite people telling me for years that
Beoit Sokal is some sort of artistic genius, I've never really liked
his style. "Amerzone" a lousy Myst-wannabe and games like "Amerzone"
are one of the reasons that the adventure genre was all but dead for
over a decade.

I mean, sure I grabbed (yet another copy of) the game, but that's
because I'm a devotee of The Number. But those of you not struggling
to rise up in that holy priesthood should probably avoid it. ;-)
