Personally, I'm not that disappointed. I was never the biggest fan of
Starcraft, and I've tired of the RTS genre in general. If I never got
to play "Starcraft III", I wouldn't lose much sleep about it. (Plus,
you all know my opinion of sequels and remakes over new IPS anyway).
But I think it's telling that after boasting about how the merger with
Microsoft would unleash a new age for classic franchises like
Starcraft, the first we hear of is mobile-slop. It's great to see
these mega-mergers of giant corporations working out for the gamer,
eh? Why bother with innovative and quality games when you've captured
the market with your sheer size? Give the customers crap; where else
are they going to go?
I'm not disappointed from a personal point of view beyond it looks like another IP that is beloved by many is going to get trashed.
Oh yes Dungeon Keeper on the mobile, I downloaded it and thought this is quite good until after less than twenty minutes I realised it's basically unplayable (well unless you can increase the average life span of people by x5 to make it bearable if you're a masochist) and uninstalled it. It was so bad that the advertising authority in the UK made them remove the claim that it was a free-to-play game as that was misleading.
