Who knows if this is a useful thread for anybody, but I'm gonna post
it anyway. Here are (some of) the upcoming games that are expected to
release in the next month. Are any of them on your radar?
 ------------------

* Doom: The Dark Ages (May 15)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3017860/DOOM_The_Dark_Ages/
The next game in the Doom saga. If you're familiar with
the last two Doom games, you should know what to expect...
except now with what every Doom games needs, even more lore.
This looked really cool, but after my very short attempt to play the latest Doom died in flames just like my character repeatedly without making any progress past the tutorial, I'm not sure I want to play it.

* Elden Ring: Nightreign (May 30)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2622380/ELDEN_RING_NIGHTREIGN/
More Elden Ring. If you loved the first, you'll dig
this stand-alone adventure. If not, keep looking.
It's some sort of random high paced action random rougelike with stuff from all their previous games, and seems to be sort of like Vermintide and set in their universes.  It appears a bit too Anime for me. At least it's supposed to be a fairly quick play and not an open world slog like ER.
I'm cautiously optimistic, but it could be very very bad.  I'm at wait and see, but might buy it shortly after release.

* Labyrinth of the Demon King
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1804010/Labyrinth_Of_The_Demon_King/
A game so ugly it actually starts too look somewhat good,
Labyrinth is a dungeon crawler set in feudal Japan. Honestly,
I'm sort of intrigued by this one. It has a sort of "Dark
Souls" vibe to it (although I've no idea if it's actually
     a souls-like in gameplay)
First person, from what little I can tell it's more like your typical RPG combat in Skyrim "slash, back up a little, slash."  So not dark souls at all.  I don't like the video static, that's a turn off, and looks like everything's made of or covered in shit.  I'm going to say no to this unless there's glowing reviews that contradict what it looks like.

* Monster Train 2 (May 21)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2742830/Monster_Train_2/
It's a deckbuilder. I lose all interest.
Every time I see the Title I'm like "Cool, someone made a game based off of Adventure Time's "Dungeon Train" Episode!  And then I see what it is and I go "Ugh."

* Revenge of the Savage Planet (May 8)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2787320/Revenge_of_the_Savage_Planet/
Third person action/explorer where you wander across alien
worlds. Probably not too bad, but nothing about it screams
     'play me!'
The first was really quite funny to begin with in some sort of SNL meets garbage pail kids humor, but quickly became a so-so Playstation 2 game of the same type as Ratchet and Clank which I'd enjoyed back in that era, but am long past now.  Won't be buying.

* Worshippers of Cthulhu (PC) - May 22
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2807150/Worshippers_of_Cthulhu/
Why fight the ancient evil when you can be on their side?
Lead a cult of Cthulhu worshippers instead! A city-builder
     with a twist. Don't expect a happy ending. ;-)
Possibly interesting, but appears to be a strategy game which isn't really my thing anymore.
