So there's this article, discussing the problem on getting new players
to invest their time in EVE, the long-running sci-fi MMORPG. One of
the issue the game has is that many of its current players have been
playing the game for literal decades, and -as such- newcomers are at a
distinct disadvantage when starting up their virtual empires. There's
just much less room for newbies to manuever.
I've played Eve a large amount - I have enough wealth to buy a PLEX perpetually IMO - and I'm surprised you are hyping it. Control of the ship is really turn based IMO. It's not like the action MMORPG that preceded it and I loved where you guided your ship like in Descent for example. This is point and click in space to direct the nose of your ship. It's not natural to me. I want to fly my ship maybe like Elite etc. This is definitely not Elite. No I haven't played recently, but it's just not for me. I feel this is oriented at people less twitch.
