 I've no problem with typing games. Heck, I learned to type using one
(Too bad it didn't teach me to spell while it was at it ;-). And, like
you said, "Typing of the Dead" was an amazing game, just because it
was such a remarkably unlikely combination of genres. But it wasn't
great because it was a typing game (in fact, it was rather awful at
teaching) but because it was a novel and unexpected twist in concept.

I'm sorry that you have an irrational fear of typing games.  I played some of these 40 yrs ago and it was a big help to my typing - I've got enough experience to where I could do a decent job without looking at the letters on the keyboard, but that's not really my objective and I like to sneak a peek while typing.  And then what do I do about typos also.
