With the crap sale Epic is having Spalls posted about, I thought I'd
check if Steam & GOG are having sales since they seem to at the same
time. Much better deals at both. Bunch of my wishlisted games on both,
and some games up to 95% off.
I grabbed "Warhammer 40K: Armageddon",
https://store.steampowered.com/app/312370/Warhammer_40000_Armageddon/not because it was on sale (although it was) but because it was being
delisted on Steam, and I'm just as vulnerable to FOMO as the next
sucker. Saying "This game won't be available anymore" is a great way
to make me rush out and buy it.
(Well, usually. "Warhammer 40K: Sanctus Reach" is also being pulled,
but my FOMO wasn't strong enough to topple that $30USD price-tag...
especially for a game I didn't really want ;-)
But generally, I didn't see anything on sale on Steam that I caught my
eye. They aren't really having a major sale right now though. I'll
save up for when they do, though. The Number demands it.
GOG /is/ having a major sale, and there are a lot of great games on
discount. The problem is, I already own all of them... at least, the
ones I'd be interested in.
[It's embarassing, actually. I go to a GOG sale, look at
the thousands of games on discount, click the 'only show me
games not in my library' and that number dwindles to
insignificance. And the few I don't own I either have
absolutely no interest in, or already own on Steam and don't
care enough about to buy a second time. It's a good thing
GOG doesn't pay per image for those "In library" tags, 'cause
if they did I'm pretty sure they'd go bankrupt everytime I
looked at their web-site ;-)]
That said... "Lego City Undercover" /is/ selling for less than a
fiver... so maybe?
