Did you watch from the 6.14 mark entitled "What I don't like"?
He laments the parry mechanic and how it often makes shooting
superfluous.
Looks real goofy now. Not like a DOOM game should be. Something for
the general public console people.
It's not an entirely bad game. It reminds me of games like the Lost
Planet series that had their moments, but were dragged down by
portions of gameplay based around annoying mechanics. In the case of
the LP games I got really fed up with the 'hit the glowing thingies
lots of times' when dealing with bigger enemies.
I think I will just end up playing it every once in a while and not
take it seriously.
Oddly enough there is enough in the game for me to sort of like it. It
has motivated me to reinstall Eternal to see if I can get into that
game sufficiently to get some enjoyment out of it.
DOOM 2016 and Eternal should be right up my street. I am curious to
find out why they didn't keep me engaged for very long.
