Onward we go!
Yup! But I do find it enjoyable so far.
I have kept at it. When you get to chapter 6 and get the Flail, the
game becomes a little more enjoyable. It has a long reach and is more
powerful than the Power Glove.
In conjunction with getting the Flail you reach Siege Part 1
This is honestly one of the most astonishing maps that I've seen in
any game. I was genuinely gob smacked at the way it is rendered. The
last time I remember being awed by a computer game level to this
extent is when I played Unreal and first left the UMS Vortex Rikers.
The Siege part 1 takes place in a huge Serious Sam style vista with
masses of demons roaming around, some of them fighting amongst
themselves. The backdrop and sky box are a sight to see.
Gameplay wise there is so much more room kite, places to take refuge,
and room to get to work with weapons and shield. I have upgrade the
shield to have longer reach when thrown, and have obtained the Super
Shotgun and upgraded it. I have upgraded the Combat Shotgun to cause
burn damage.
I'd be very happy if the game stayed this way, but alas, at
approximately the half way point (chapter 11 I think) it's primarily
parry,parry,parry,parry,parry, melee, melee, melee, F I N I S H as you
come across more of the caste champions.
I shall press on.
