Admittedly, it does look a bit like Ant On Cheddar (perhaps draw a
smaller square on the top of the biscuit to make it look like there's
a slight depression, like many biscuits have... and a bit less orange
too :-) but otherwise very cute.

No surprise, that. It was an early real-time strategy game, created by
Sierra On-Line waaaay back in 1994. It pre-dated even the venerable
"Command & Conquer" series. As such, "Battle Bugs" lacked a lot of the
things now considered de rigeur for RTS games, and lacks the innate
playability of the better known titles of that genre. It bears almost
as much in common games like "Cannon Fodder" as it does proper
strategy. Personally, I found it lacked the depth of gameplay to
maintain my sustained interest. It's been forgotten for a reason, and
it's not the sort of game I'd recommend you search out and play
But it had a cute cartoony art-style and it's one of the few
insect-themed games. Your picture reminded me of it.
