Anyone buying this at launch? What's your opinion of the new
console? It's feeling like Wii-U redux to me, though I'll probably
eventually get one for the bigger screen.
I was planning on getting it, until I saw the european price, the launch
games and got to read the EULA. Instead I got a new 35mm camera.
Being a retro gamer, raw power, specs and stuff like that is meaningless
to me. My real problem is that After 2 years with a Steam Deck, it's
very hard to go back to a traditional console. Once i got used to using
the hardware in any way I liked, not being restricted to one single
storefront thanks to Lutris, having my own emulation solution, and being
able to do spreadsheets with it (yes, having a real Linux desktop
environment matters a lot to me), it's very hard to go back to a super
restricted walled garden system (a glorified toy) that can be remotely
disabled.
Am I excited? Yes, but not for the console until the price goes down or
Splatoon 4 comes out. I'm just here hoping to see brawls on the stores,
people having meltdowns when they find out bad stuff they were not
expecting, and pro-nintendo vs anti-nintendo trolls flinging feces at
each other like monkeys in a Team Fortress 2 map.
I will spend the weekend playing Deltarune in my Switch OLED (I was
going to play it on PC / Deck, but there are integer scaling issues) and
working on the PC for the July LanParty, and looking at the fanboys.
