Prime Gaming - June 2025 - Prime Day Bonus

Normally I do these announcements every two weeks (when I don't
forget) but I have to break the schedule this time because Amazon is
offering a handful of games some of which will ONLY be available to
claim for free for the next few days.

So grab 'em before they're gone


* Football Manager 2024 (via EPIC)
    It's... well, it's a football (that's 'soccer' to you
    Yanks) manager. I thought that would be obvious from the
    title. You manage the teams -the overall strategy, the
    business, the trades- rather than play the games. I guess
    people enjoy these things. Not me. You may already have
    this one on Epic, though (it was an Epic freebie last
    September)


* Star Wars Dark Forces II Jedi Knight (via GOG)
    Guide Kyle Katarn through a first-person quest of vengeance
    and discovery. It's an okay game, but the 3D graphics haven't
    held up well, and the level design --stuck in an era between
    Doom and Half-Life"-- is often quite tedious. But the full-
    motion video cutscenes are cheesy fun!



* Marvel's Midnight Suns (via EPIC)
    Marvel comics meets XCom, with a card-themed mechanics
    stuck in there somewhere. The story is apparently a bit
    meh but the combat is supposedly fun. It's one of those
    games I've been intending to give a try for a while, but
    always keep putting off. This is another Epic dupe, by
    the way (offered June 2024)


* Amnesia: The Dark Descent (via EPIC)
    The Amnesia game that started them all; wander dark halls
    searching for matches and trying to avoid being seen by
    (or looking at) the monster chasing you. It's well made
    (if a bit lacking in polish due to its Indie origins) but
    the mechanics of never being able to look at the monster
    always annoyed me. And yes, you probably have this one on
    Epic already too (it's been a frequent give-away, first
    offered way back in May 2020)



Not the greatest selection but The Number cares about quantity, not
quality!
