Announcing you are leaving a group is much like announcing you have
killfiled someone. It's a weak attempt to exercise some power over
others.
+1. Agree. It proves my point about the childish mind of Apple trolls.
In fact, I hadn't responded as was thinking something similar as you where
most of us have been on a variety of Usenet newsgroups for, oh, I don't
know, maybe two decades or so, right? If we left, nothing would change.
When you and I left the alt.home.repair newsgroup, did anyone even notice?
When Lewis left the Apple newsgroups, did any of you here even notice?
Did anyone here care when JF Mezei left the Apple newsgroups? Savageduck?
None of us is critical to the newsgroups, not even David Empson (who knew
more about Apple than all the rest of us did, combined) or Michelle Steiner
(who started the iPhone and/or iPad newsgroup(s), as far as I'm aware).
Besides, when Apple trolls like Alan Browne leave, a newsgroup IQ goes up.
Wasn't it much *better* for everyone when Rod Speed & Snit left these ngs?
I suspect Alan Browne is just going to change nyms (which I think nospam is
doing based on only one post though - but which was eerily his words).
