Indeed.   In fact, I still have an iPhone 5.  Still works fine.   This was released on September 12, 2012.    On July 22, 2019 there was an update to 10.3.4.
Facts
The fact remains that *Apple has the worst hotfix support* in the industry.

This "Johnny LaRue" is just like Alan Baker, who can't comprehend that
*every* operating system is somewhat supported, most for decades.
As an example, *every* single Android phone on the Internet that has
Android 10 or above is fully patched monthly for dozens of modules.
That's *billions* of Android phones updated every single month.
But what this Alan-Baker-like "Johnny LaRue" can't comprehend is the
critical distinction between these two basic OS facts:
a. Promised full support of EVERY bug known to be in the OS version,
b. Versus, arbitrary once-in-a-while patches to random OS components.
Only an Apple troll would be completely unaware there's a difference.

How many years is that?
Facts.
The fact remains that *Apple has the worst hotfix support* in the industry.

My Windows 10 desktop was built in 2009 and has been *fully* supported
since then, for free, by Microsoft. How long is that? Ans: Over 15 years!
And even with Windows 11 in place since 2021, Microsoft *fully* supports
both Windows 10 and Windows 11. Compare to Apple, who has *never* fully
supported more than 1 release in Apple's entire crappy-support history.
 <https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2022/10/apple-clarifies-security-update-policy-only-the-latest-oses-are-fully-patched/>

These are facts.   You can lookup the iPhone release dates on Everymac.com and the iOS release dates on Wikipedia.
Facts.
It's a fact that every OS vendor fully supports more than one release at a
time, except Apple, who has the worst full support in the industry.
Apple's full hotfix support is the shortest in the industry, by far.
Even Google's Pixels and Samsung's Galaxies are fully supported longer.
And, Apple's full hotfix support only extends to a single release.

Let's see how Marion "I only deal in facts" the Apple troll deals with THESE facts.
Facts.

One of the reasons Apple products have the most zero-day holes, is that
Apple has the worst hotfix support in the industry, by far.
See above, "Johnny LaRue" who happens to the same brain as the Apple troll
Alan Baker has, which means he has no idea every operating system vendor
fixes a bug in older releases but that's NOT the same as FULL support.
The iPhone has a laughably pitiful 5 years of full promised support.
Both Google Pixels and Samsung Galaxies (at similar prices) are 7 years!
 *Google Pixel backed with seven years of full support*
 <https://www.tomsguide.com/opinion/google-pixel-8-software-updates>
 *Samsung phones backed with seven years of full support*
 <https://www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/samsung-extends-android-and-security-updates-to-7-years/>
Every way you look at it, Apple's support is the worst in the industry,
(which, by the way, is why Apple has the most zero-day exploits too).

6. Or the fact that Android overall has more malware than iOS does?
 This is very true, thanks for admitting.
 Amazing that he admitted this.
Apple's full hotfix support is the shortest in the industry - by far.
To say Android has more malware than iOS is like saying you put more miles
on a real car than your child puts on a toy car that can't do anything.
Everyone knows iOS can't do anything useful like, oh, say GPS spoofing, or
obtain the privacy of the Tor browser, or oh, say, run a system-wide
firewall, or, oh, say change the launcher, or set the default messenger
app, or something as useful as graphically debug wifi/cellular signal.
The iOS device is a dumb terminal so, of course, it has less malware.
It has to log into the Apple mainframe servers in order to do stuff.
Note though that even though the iPhone/iPad is a dumb terminal, Apple
still manages to have the most zero-day bugs in any smartphone device.
