You may find it is slightly more reliable with power saving disabled.
To disable temporarily use:-
sudo /sbin/iw dev wlan0 set power_save off
To make persistent create a file called
/etc/udev/rules.d/71-wifi_power_save_off.rules containing the line:-
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="brcmfmac", KERNEL=="wlan0",
RUN="/sbin/iw dev wlan0 set power_save off"
