I also find that the way it asks about customisation is totally
misleading.  If you answer 'Yes' to "Would you like to apply OS
cusotmisation settings" then you'd expect it to then ask what you want
to do. What it **actually** means is do you want to apply the settings
it has remembered that you did several months ago!  Not to mention
that 'No, clear settings' and 'No' are rather confusing.
You must be talking about the latest version (1.9.*). I have also used
this a couple of times in the last weeks and on the one hand found it as
irritating as you did, otoh it was ideal for testing a couple of images
of the same OS under various conditions.

There should be some sort of help to clarify all this.
I think the imager is a bit more comfortable and saves you a bit of time
(touch ssh and all that), but of course this is up to you. :)

I agree with that. I don't habitually use the  imager, because now I have a screen and keyboard ready to set everything up using raspi-config
But I tried it once and its 'ok' .
The real easy street is to buy an SD card with the OS preinstalled.

Just like Winders, it's there already!

I was brought up to believe that you should never give offence if you can avoid it; the new culture tells us you should always take offence if you can. There are now experts in the art of taking offence, indeed whole academic subjects, such as 'gender studies', devoted to it.
