Right, I just rebuilt a 14.3-R kernel, but one server did not
restart saying kernel missing.
I am rebuilding however how do I keep the kernel.old?
I generally do
cp kernel.old kernel.spare
before installing. If things
get really dicey I'll save more
than one old kernel.
There's a limit on name length,
so one can't get too verbose. It's
ok to use four characters after the
dot, but IIRC six won't work.
hope this helps,
