Beaucoup, dont moi, ne l'aiment pas et l'évitent autant que possible,
mais comme vous dites, c'est ainsi.
 
Ce que je trouve bizarre est que le verbe reste au pluriel - 'they are',
pas 'they is' (sauf dans certains dialectes). Le pronom l'entraîne avec
lui, bon gré, mal gré.
 

Excellente remarque. Il me semble qu'il y a le même phénomène en
français pour le « on » signifiant « nous ». Le verbe reste au singulier.
