well forgotten Louis Forestier...And who records the first complete 5
concertos of SS...For me, this remains the reference version, brilliant
and infinitely poetic...
 
Then will come Rogé / Dutoit and especially Collard / Prévin, Collard
with a very convincing steel playing, I think... (even ifDutoit/ Prévin
never convinced me as a conductor)...
Obviously, Ciccolini / Baudo are there, with their debussystes colors
(EMI 1970)... In the end, quite disappointing...
 
Thibaudet / Dutoit (decidedly, this "conductor" [sic] seems to be a
subscriber to this work) instill an irresistible energy...
Descharmes (Naxos 2015), little known, manages to rid the work of all
its clichés...
Kantorow (father & son ! Bis 2016)...Subtle, perfect setting...
Chamayou / Krivine (I've always loved this conductor...Erato
2017)...True epic full of meaty sounds...
