MEDIA: Policy Choices Matter When It Comes to the Level of Immigration

will be the immigrant share of the American labor market at the end
of Donald Trump's second term and how Susie Wiles recommends that
VP JD Vance to sell the hard realities to legacy American proles in

| The dramatic increase in new arrivals post-Covid shown in the data
| almost certainly reflects, at least in part, the president's
| campaign promises that created the perception, before he took
| office, that he would reduce enforcement. Ending the Migrant
| Protection Protocols for asylum applicants, and scaling back Title
| 42, then ending it all together, encouraged illegal immigration. The
| Biden administration's decision to end the Asylum Cooperative
| Agreements with Central American countries and to curtail detention
| and expedited removal at the border also likely helped spur illegal
| immigration. At the same time, the administration significantly
| increased refugee resettlement after the Trump administration had
| reduced it.

Will Trump include the poaching of the 8.1B Globe's top two quintiles
in his legislative agenda and will Trump punish VP JD Vance by
withholding his endorsement if Vance refuses the opportunity to serve
as Deputy Chief Sales Critter for Trump's merit-based gift to the
Cheap Labor Lobby?
