A key point missing in a lot of post debate analysis is that Trump's

Once again, I take no sides in the American presidential election but I do have my observations. The accusations made (I don't know if they've been verified) was that it was ducks that were taken and eaten. The insinuation by Trump was that they were stealing people's pet dogs and cats and making a Chinese cuisine. Where as the duck story may be true, it was presented as something far worse. Up to that point, I thought the debate was a tie. Afterwards is up for debate.

I have studied pro-Trump sources deeply, and it seems to me the common opinion is that he performed badly. He did not press Cackles on any issues, and ended up on the defensive. On top of that, the moderators were on the side of Cackles and not objective at all, only focusing on arguing against Trump.
But, the silver lining, is that the debate was so bad that it probably won't shift the opinion much either way.
