Blue collar workers and Gen Zs do not read newspapers as often as
other news sources (social media, streaming devices, people's "BS",
etc), and as such, I believe literate people who do read newspapers
are the adults in the room who can decipher reality.
Hooray! I'm an adult in the room! ;)

There are various reasons why people vote for a candidate A, ranging
from "tax breaks" for me to behavioral aspects, etc.

When news sources indicate candidate A's policies will bring about
more inflation than candidate B, many voters will still vote for this
person.  So its clear these people can't make rational decisions.

I don't think political endorsements have clout.
This is a very interesting question. I wonder how much they do influence their readers, or, if the readers choose their newspapers based on pre-existing leanings?

But, what do they read???  Sports, obits, etc ???
I skip lightly over the irrelevant stuff, and mostly read financially oriented articles. Probably I read about 30% to 40% of the newspaper.
Oh and I read The Phantom and the Moomin trolls comics!
