NYT and the non-subject

I personally decided I'm going to avoid political discussion for a
while, take a break.  There's more to life than just a single news story
these days.

But, not if you're a news site, apparently!  My RSS reader shows that on
the NYTimes newsfeed, 12 of 28 articles currently on deck are about the
president-elect.  If I filtered, nearly half the feed would disappear.

Don't let them fool you: the mainstream news is thrilled they have a
chance to sell papers via outrage.  They did great the last time around.

Me, I'm going to turn my attention to other things for a while.
