Police are braced for further protests at the Tesla factory site in
Grunheide near Berlin. Activists protesting the expansion of the
facility say they have no course of action left but civil
disobedience.

I am all in favour of civil disobedience, regardless of ideology, as long as you don't complain about the consequences when the police comes and as long as you don't risk lives of others.
To give you an example, in sweden it is very common for eco-fascist to glue themselves to highway to stop traffic. I am against this, because it has happened that ambulances cannot reach the hospital and peoples lives are at risk. This is one case where I am against it.
Should they glue themselves to the ground outside the entrance of an oil company office, I would still find it silly and disagree, but I would have a lot less against it, in principle.
In my own case, I was civil disobediencing all my way through corona by refusing wearing a mask, and by refusing to stay inside and by refusing to vaccinate myself, and that is why I grant leftists the same right for their concerns.
My youth growing up in Southern Africa saw severe consequences for acts of civil disobedience, yet our convictions were strong to carry on. Authorities downplay these acts of protest but time has proven they work, which is why the heavy-handed threats are issued. A few will carry the burden but the whole will see positive results. Look no further than the civil rights movement in America.
