This format started in telegraph days so if the full story was not
transmitted, some of it would get through.
Nowadays, this has been flipped.....one might have to sift thru
several paragraphs or more to get the point/substance/etc.
They just drag it out, and drag it out.....especially where
advertising is decked out. Hence, I suspect they are attempting to
fetch more advertising kickbacks (money). Cocksuckers...
