As millions of white women entered the workforce in the early 1950s,
Somehow, women found this liberating. In the 1950s qnd 60s, men hadn't been 'liberated' enough to pitch in and help with the household. This meant in addition to working a full-time work schedule, women were still expected to do all those domestic chores women traditionally did, with the one exception being dinner preparation every evening. Now she did most of her cooking on the weekend for the entire week, or occasionally rely on the now "TV dinner".
