Tourist police visit Russian Consulate General in Phuket
The tourist police have begun a series of pre-season visits to
consulates and honorary consulates of foreign countries in Phuket. One
of the first on the list was the representative office of the Russian
Federation.
According to the tourist police, the head of the regional
administration, Colonel Phisit Savatthavorn, senior inspector,
Lieutenant Colonel Ekkachai Siri, and other employees arrived for a
meeting with Consul General Yegor Ivanov. The officers reported to Mr.
Ivanov about the tourist police's readiness to ensure the safety of
tourists during the high season.
In particular, a package of five measures was presented �to strengthen
the confidence of consulates in the safety of Phuket so that they
encourage visits by their citizens to the island.�
🚑First Aid Skills
All tourism police officers have completed first aid training,
including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The agency has
automatic defibrillators (AEDs) at its disposal.

Tourists can contact the tourist police hotline 1155 at any time. The
staff speaks Russian, English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Plans are
underway to add German, French and Hindi.
⛲Tourist police as guides
Tourist police officers have been trained to act as guides and can
tell tourists about Phuket or give advice.
⛴️Drug-free transport
The White Routes project is combating drug use among workers in the
transport sector, including sea vessels.
⛔STC Project in Patong
Patong is implementing the Strong Tourism Community (STC) project,
which trains service workers to recognise threats and respond
competently to them.
Between November 5 and 8, Colonel Savathaworn and Lieutenant Colonel
Siri have already held meetings with representatives from China,
Russia, Germany, Switzerland and South Korea in Phuket, the tourism
police added.
