Interestingly, this article hit the front pages the first day, and was
immediately - I mean immediately - replicated over every possible forum.
Why, and by whom?
It's such a strange article, has basically no facts. Just throws doubt
on the payment. Immediate, global saturation. Who wanted this message
spread?
I believe it is a stock story that just gets updated for each new high
profile "award for information given" case. I've seen several of these
over the years.
Why did this one get a lot of coverage? Maybe people at news orgs
(reading news) with sympathy for the shooter and ticked off about
someone helping the police with this case.
