neighbours will be encourage to spy on each other. Oh, actually in sweden I think you can get rewards from "anti-net hating groups" if you rat out people who get convicted.

I could go to jail for the content of some of my posts on
usenet, or at least get fines in the 1000 EUR range.

This is the truth! If people would start to get convicted and fined/sent to prison for what they wrote on usenet, I'd have to bother with tor, VPN:s and stuff. Or find another uncensored niche forum somewhere, or maybe start my own usenet on some kind of VPN. Well, let's hope it won't come to that. =)
