They may not have been medically dead, but I've sat with some 'dead'
passengers; usually reeking of alcohol.
I was thinking the opposite: sitting next to a stiff might be better
than sitting next to some of the healthy/alive A-Holes you meet on
planes these days.
If you read the thing carefully though, you see the guy shifted towards
the window and the stiff sat between him and the aisle. That's vaguely
unsettling.
Wonder if he got to eat her free bag of six little pretzels though. That
might make it worth it.
Reminds me of the scene in 'Vacation' when the aunt (Imogene Coca) died in the back seat of the car sitting between the two kids. They tied her up on the car roof with the luggage. LOL!!!
