 Every now and then I check just to be sure. Then I go back to the
status quo, which is ignoring any post with a jlaforums link in it.

If you are accessing from what appears to be Linux (from your post headers I think you might be) and you are adblocking, locked down on your requests or otherwise - just answer the captcha at it will let you in.
They block most of my VPNs and SBs but I whitelisted as it checked out to me at least.  You should get an explanation page as to why you might be blocked.  If not, then what I wrote above is probably why.
