T-Borg's plan is starting to backfire. One of the Chinese e-commerce
sites is setting up a warehouse or two in US, where the goods will be
sold to customers.
In other words, the tariff charged will be much lower since the
distributor's buying costs are lower, so a lower tariff charged, than
what consumers' tariff charge would be when buying direct from China.
Any foreign company could do this, if they sell in higher amounts. It
could be done on Amazon.
