International Civil Aviation Organization rules Russia downed flight
MH17 in 2014
In short:
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) council has ruled
that Russia was responsible for the downing of a Malaysian airliner
over Ukraine in 2014.
It found that Russia breached the prohibition under international law
on the use of weapons against civil aircraft in flight and is
responsible for the loss of 298 innocent lives.
What's next?
Australia and the Netherlands want the ICAO council to order Russia to
enter into negotiations over reparations
