Not just a single idiot though, a whole team of them!
When government spending supports projects (roads, green energy, etc),
there is a long term return on these investments, including increases
in tax revenue. There is nothing wrong with Uncle Sam investing in
business projects that advances the nation's interest, but this is not
happening now.
With ICE spending, only select companies profit. Employers who hired
them will take a hit, and consumers who buy products via those
employers will most likely pay more for their products. ICE's actions
also will decrease the total federal/state tax revenue streams.
Economically, a cause/effect relationship with US suffering.
