You can add them to a *version* of the map that you see, and can share, but you can't just add stuff to *the* map, they do a modicum of fact checking for e.g. businesses being added or corrections being made.

A lot of the business tags used are not even accurate in their placement, sometimes even on the wrong side of the street (I have even found one that was on a totally different parallel street). In some cases it's probably due to the person simply not zooming in close enough before adding the tag.
