Regardless of whether you think I'm paranoid, this incident still happened.
Even my wife has complained about exactly such things happening except with
apps like Facebook and others. So how and why does this happen? What possible settings could be involved

Hi badgolferman,
Elsewhere I responded to your query, like an adult would have responded.
As for this tangent from, apparently, the canonical Apple troll, Alan,
you have to remember the Apple trolls you're responding to are herd
animals. They don't have any original thought processes of their own.
They know nothing about anything.
So they fear people who do know something.
So while it's completely normal for people on all the normal operating
systems newsgroups to ask similar questions, it's anathema to Apple trolls.
The Apple trolls are so afraid of your question, that their only response,
childish as it is, is to *attack you* simply for asking the question.
Apple trolls live in abject fear because that's what herd animals are.
Herd animals react in groups to every possible perceived threats.
Have you noticed that the Apple trolls act exactly like herd animals do?
