Rather than use pointless anecdotes, including my iphone XR from 2019 which
has had 5 full upgrades and is still fully supported, let's look at the
facts shall we?

Oldest models still supported: 6s/6s Plus
Released: Sep 2015
No. major updates: 6
Chris,
You're supposed to have a PhD for God's sake (according to you anyway).
That means you're supposed to understand the difference between the current release and all other releases.
C'mon. It's not that hard, Chris. *The current release for iOS is iOS 17*.
FACT:
*Apple only fully supports one and only one major release*

Any other release other than iOS 17 no longer has full support by Apple.
That means Apple knows of bugs that it won't fix on those older releases.
These are the only iPhones that have full support from Apple, Chris.

Hint: No
It's no longer shocking how ignorant you uneducated Apple religious zealots
are about Apple products, even something as simple as full hotfix support.
