Apple plans to introduce a new Passwords app in iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and
macOS 15. The Passwords app will serve as an alternative to third-party
apps like 1Password and LastPass.

Apple plans to unveil Passwords during next Monday's WWDC keynote event.

Good news.
One can access the Passwords from the keychain via Settings on iOS but it is a somewhat tedious copy paste routine.
I've fallen out of love with 1Password since they went to their monthly fee model. I've managed to muddle along with 1Password apps still working on my old iMac and my iPhone - able to sync changes and such - but the days are numbered for such. I refuse to "rent" software.
In the the meantime I've exported the password file (in plain text) to my new iMac and encrypted that in case I need to dig out a password (and wrote a program to facilitate that too - the flat file is ugly).
I've been using Passkeys for many months - alas not a lot of sites support it so far - hopefully that picks up.
I hope they put up a non-website keyed version of this App for the Mac as well for instances where account/passwords are not directly linked to a website.
Also be nice if it works with all browsers, not just Safari.
