Your problem is you want to invade everyone's privacy regardless of
whether they are hurting anyone. That's the only way CSAM scanning can
work, and why Apple wisely withdrew their proposal even though it
worked harder to preserve privacy than any other solution.
No, I take exception to your statement that privacy is for *everyone*.
There are plenty of people in this world who should have their privacy
and freedom taken away forever. Many of them their lives too.
Tattoos are for everyone also, but if this unwarranted search & seizure
continues unabated we will soon be strip searching everyone at every
entrance to public transportation for tasteless tattoos & arresting them.
The point is that what Google/Meta are doing appears to be (as far as we
know) completely and wholly unwarranted illegal searches & seizures.
I know this because I know one item that every adult should ask...
Q: What is the conviction rate of Meta/Google versus that of Apple?
A: If we don't know that - then everything is complete bullshit.
This is a logically sensible point of view.
The news, as reported, is complete bullshit as without that conviction
rate, it's meaningless that Google & Meta report more tasteless tattoos
than does Apple.
