How can they have "previously covered" the performance of something that exists only in Apple's labs?
Did you read the article they linked where they made their claim initially? I did.
They offer literally no substantiation for their claim.
All they offer is a link to an article by Mark Gurman that doesn't even claim the performance will be "sub-par".
But that Gurman article does say one thing that he actually CAN know something about:
