Hello,
Is it normal for taking pictures makes my previous active iOS app
get restarted when I go back to it? Does Camera app take a lot of
resources or something? I am using an iPhone 12 mini with iOS v17
(haven't upgraded to v18 yet).

Yes, the camera app is quite resource intensive so it can happen.

How annoying. :(
Which particular apps is this happening with? And can you give an
example of how it affects said app? Generally, app developers can save
an app's state when the app gets suspended and then restore it the next
time it's active. So I have to wonder if what you are experiencing is
just an app that doesn't properly save and restore its state.
Duolingo, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
