Why not test one of those free ad-free apps and let us know how it goes?
Following your tips, I discovered one device I like. It is called
SensorPush and works with Bluetooth connection. It is really small and uses
Bluetooth connection. It costs $49.99 in the US. Unfortunately they would
charge almost as much for VAT and shipping it to me in Hungary. I also
looked at Amazon˘s German affiliate that would not charge me those extra
fees due to common EU membership, but they don˘t carry it (yet). I guess
because it is so new even in the US. So I may wait for a while to see if it
shows up in the amazon.de portal soon.
Thanks for reporting back since I was sincerely trying to help you as I'm a
kindhearted person who spends energy for those who are worth the effort.
When you first posted in a non-English language, I thought I remembered
your moniker - but I didn't have you listed as a troll - but I saw that you
accidentally posted in another language so that explains my confusion.
As for temperature probes - yes - you're correct almost certainly that any
app that runs purely from the phone's sensors will be affected by the heat
of the phone. So I understood why you needed an external sensor.
I like the concept of a separate thermometer tied to a phone (as it can log
temperatures over time, for example), so I will look for one for myself.
I get everything off of Amazon lately for free so maybe I'll look to see if
Amazon Vine has a remote thermometer that Android or iOS can make use of.

While Amazon keeps their Vine algorithms secret, it seems to me if I look
for a widget, and if it's not there, if i *keep looking* for that widget,
eventually it shows up in my "Recommended for you" set of free goodies.

So I'll start looking for "cellphone thermometer" or keywords like that.

Let us know how it works out & I'll let you know how mine does too.
That way we all help each other like a well-honed communicative team.
(But I have to fight my wife & kids to get the good stuff on Vine!)
It’s a deal!
This gadget I found on Amazon also has a companion WiFi device that would
allow to read the temperature remotely, so I might eventually buy that,
too, if the need comes.
By the way, I’ve just read that Google installs a new infrared sensor in
its Pixel phone that allows using their phone to read room temperature
without any external gadget. It sounds interesting, but I think it can
probably read the surface temp of objects really, not of the surrounding
air temp.
As to my inadvertent use of Hungarian text in my original post,
unfortunately comes fairly often when I am distracted. It’s even worse in
speech. Such is the life of an expat.
