Now, here's a question for you:

Why is it even important which kernel Apple uses?
They didn't build it from scratch, like Winblows NT did. Why did
Gates hire Cutler? Why did Apple wish they could've?
Why SHOULD they build it from scratch.
*That* is the question, believe it or not.
One you're not answering...
Why do you think we call GNU/Linux mainly "Linux", it's a tribute to
Torvalds for being beyond a genius.
That still doesn't answer the question.
I can boot my modern PC with Linux, because a person with the mind to
create a kernel exists. Apple never acquired a programmer quite on
that level, clearly.
And again:

What does it matter WHO wrote the kernel?

What's important is that the computer works.

And macOS works.

You need to learn what a circular argument is.
They depend onApple makes computers and other computing devices and the operating systems for those devices along with many applications to run on them.
Microsoft and Adobe to develop applications.
I actually enjoyedAgain with the "quirky".
seeing the free trial of M$ Office for Mac. Showed it to my mom,
who's always used Office for Winblows. The Mac version of Office is
actually great software. And I imagine Adobe's stuff is pretty great
on it, and the movie editing, etc. But for a typical PC user, posting
on Usenet everyday, macOS is a quirky choice.
