I got a new iPhone on Wednesday. My old iPhone 8 really needed replacing
after more than 6 years. So I got myself a new iPhone 16.

And after getting the phone set up with the ease provided by the
facility built in to iOS (while I had lunch), my battery was at 100% at
about 2pm on Wednesday. I used it all the rest of the day, and all of
Thursday until I went to bed and the phone was still at 34% when I went
to bed at 12:30am.

So I'm curious how "inferior" my new iPhone's really is.

It's 11:44am on Friday, and I've just unplugged my iPhone from the
charging cable.

I'll report back what the percentage is at 11:44am tomorrow, and I'll
report again when the iPhone demands that it be plugged in.

...and I've still got 17% battery left.
83% battery used over 47 hours, is about 1.75% per hour.
So I'll pretty easily get from waking up to a full phone and only
charging it every other night.

Completely useless information. You do not understand anything about
battery management, energy consumption of a smartphone depending on
configuration etc. etc.
You should have added at least the analysis of the energy consumption.
Lord let rain some brain!
